Why is a Web Page better than other advertising?
Having a web site is one of the cheapest forms of advertising you can
buy, and yet it is also one of the best. The benefits of a web page
are:
· It can contain multiple pages of information
· It can include pictures, diagrams and maps - in colour of course
· It can contain separate pages for different products
· Pages can be updated easily - even daily or weekly if needed
· It can include a message form to make it easier for customers
to contact you by email
· It is easy to find using search engines
· It can be seen by anyone around the world who is connected
to the WWW, 24 hours a day
How can I minimise costs?
Two words: Be Prepared. Have files with the text you want on the page,
have a good idea of what the graphics ought to look like, and know what
feel you are looking for. The less we have to retrace our steps because
of a changed idea on your part, the less the price will rise. Likewise,
the less time the we have to spend on typing and retyping of what could
be prepared material, the less fat will appear on the bill!
What is the payment schedule?
An initial payment of one-half of the total cost of the estimate is
required upon contracting with us,with the remainder due upon completion
of the web site.
Who owns the copyrights?
Upon the final payment of the account, the copyright ownership goes
to the client.
Make sure you ask this question of all Web Designers, as by law, the
copyright remains with the Designer by default. Quite often you will
have to pay extra for copyright ownership of your site.
What if I decide to cancel a design job?
We only charge you for what work has been done (minimum 50% of total
costs).
How will I monitor design work progress?
We will send the design work for you to approve in PDF form. You are
required then to digitally sign your approval, which then means the
next stage can be commenced.
Then, depending on where you host, you can have your own directory on
this web server (itpays-webdesign.com.au/client_test) or your own web
server (yourserver.com/client_test) where you can view the design work
in progress (as well as PDF's). You will also receive E-mail updates
detailing any changes.
How will I receive my web site once it's completed?
Once you approve the final design work, we will upload all the files
to your web server/host provider. Once uploaded, we will thoroughly
test your web site's HTML, Links, browser compatability and dynamic
content to ensure everything is working properly. You will also have
the option of receiving the completed web site via E-mail attachment,
Floppy disk, or CD.
What if we need extra pages, new features, statistical analysis and
Updates/Amendments?
Many companies recognise that their businesses may not function in the
same way on the Internet and are actively learning the new techniques
necessary to succeed. They keep their web sites in a constant state
of change, closely monitoring visitors reactions and making amendments
accordingly. In this way they are constantly refocusing their businesses
towards customer needs. IT Pays Web Design offer an on-going maintenance
program and can provide you with sophisticated statistical analysis
that will help you develop your web site effectively.
Can I have lots of animations on my site?
There are all sorts of great and fun gimmicks to build into a web site.
Sometimes they are relevant but mostly used to please the Web Designer
trying to demonstrate that he or she "Can Do" this stuff!
But in most cases a simple, fast loading, clear and easy to navigate
sites makes more business.
