Creating a brilliant website is fruitless if no one
knows about it. With millions of sites on the internet, capturing attention
can be a challenge. There are many ways to go about it - the DIY deal,
which, considering the amount of research that is involved, can be quite
a daunting task. Or quite often a Web Design Company can include it
in their package. This generally works out to be a realistic approach
as not only is it in their area of expertise, but they also can include
the marketing ideas in the website design itself . This works out to
be cheaper than possible "add ons".. After all what is a website
but one big advertisement!
The marketing of a website really begins with the planning of the web
site. In fact, most of the areas of creating a website such as: Domain
names, Design, Content, Search Engine submissions and Maintenance all
have key roles in the marketing and promoting of it.
There are factors within each area that, if applied correctly, will
affect the marketability of the site. Many people leave the marketing
plan until after the completion of the website, which can lead to a
lot of unnecessary extra costs. Marketing needs to be included in the
planning stages of the website, not just budgeting for it, but actively
involving it into the website itself.
